General Terms and Conditions (GTC)

These General Terms and Conditions apply to contracts for the rental of hotel rooms for accommodation and all other services provided to the guest by the Nordic Vida Hotel, operated by Nordwärts Hotel GmbH.
1. Scope of Application
These General Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings, reservations, and stays at the Nordic Vida Hotel in Cuxhaven.
By booking, the guest accepts the following terms.
Deviating general terms and conditions of the guest or contracting party shall not apply unless the hotel expressly agrees to their validity in writing.

3. Booking & Contract Conclusion
A lodging agreement is concluded upon the hotel's booking confirmation.
Bookings can be made via the hotel website, booking platforms, by phone, or in writing.
The hotel reserves the right to refuse bookings in individual cases.
Subletting or re-letting of rooms, as well as their use for purposes other than accommodation, is not permitted without the express consent of the hotel.
4. Room Usage & Assignment
Rooms may only be used by the booked guests.
There is no entitlement to a specific room or room location unless explicitly confirmed in writing.
Should a booked room be exceptionally unavailable, the hotel is entitled to offer equivalent alternative accommodation.
5. Prices & Visitor's Tax
All stated room rates include the statutory VAT.
Additionally, local visitor's tax and tourism or bed tax may apply. These will be charged separately.
6. Payment
Payment is cashless.
All common debit and credit cards, as well as digital payment methods such as Apple Pay or Google Pay, are accepted.
Payment can be made either digitally in advance via Straiv/Adyen or on-site at the terminal.
Full payment is due upon arrival at the latest, before room cards are issued.
7. Check-in & Check-out
Regular check-in is possible from 3:30 PM. Check-out is by 11:00 AM at the latest.
Self-check-in and late arrivals are possible at any time. Guests will receive the necessary information digitally via Straiv before arrival.
The reception is regularly staffed daily from 09:00 AM to 06:00 PM. An emergency number is available outside these hours.
In case of late check-out, the hotel reserves the right to charge additional costs.
8. Cancellation Policy
Flexible Rate:
Free cancellation is possible up to 3 days before arrival.
For later cancellations, 80% of the room rate will be charged, for a maximum of the first five nights of the booked stay.
Non-flexible Rate:
Non-flexible rates are non-cancellable and non-rebookable.
9. Bookings via Third-Party Providers / OTAs
For bookings made through external booking platforms (e.g., Booking.com, Expedia, or similar providers), the respective terms and conditions and cancellation policies of the third-party provider also apply.
Changes, cancellations, or inquiries regarding OTA bookings must generally be made through the respective booking platform.
Invoicing and payment processing may be handled directly by the respective provider, depending on the booking platform.
10. No-Show
In the event of a no-show without prior cancellation, 80% of the booked room rate will be charged, for a maximum of the first five nights.
11. Group Bookings
For group bookings of five rooms or more, separate payment and cancellation conditions may apply.
This also applies if multiple individual bookings for the same travel period are made by the same guest or related persons.
The hotel reserves the right to provide retrospectively adjusted terms or to cancel bookings if no agreement is reached.
12. No Smoking
All rooms and indoor areas of the Nordic Vida Hotel are non-smoking.
Smoking inside the rooms or the building is prohibited.
In case of violation, the hotel reserves the right to charge a special cleaning fee of at least €250. The right to claim further damages or loss of revenue is reserved.
13. Pets
Pets are not permitted at the Nordic Vida Hotel.
14. Minors
Bookings and check-ins are only permitted for adults.
15. Sauna & Wellness Area
Use of the sauna is at one's own risk.
The instructions of the hotel staff and the posted usage and safety rules must be observed.
The sauna is exclusively available to hotel guests.
16. Wi-Fi & Technical Facilities
The hotel provides guests with free Wi-Fi.
The guest agrees to use the Wi-Fi exclusively within the scope of legal requirements. The user is solely liable for any misuse.
The hotel assumes no liability for temporary technical malfunctions, failures of the internet, Wi-Fi, or digital systems such as Chromecast, digital keys, or check-in systems, unless these were caused by intent or gross negligence.
17. Right of Admission
The hotel reserves the right to deny guests access to the hotel or further stay in cases of significant disruption to hotel operations, violations of house rules, or inappropriate conduct.
18. Liability
The guest is liable for all damages caused by them to the building, furnishings, or technical equipment.
The hotel is only liable in cases of intent or gross negligence. Liability for ordinary negligence is excluded, to the extent legally permissible.
19. Additional Services
Additional services such as extra room cleaning, baby cots, or external breakfast can be offered upon request and subject to availability.
Bicycles can be stored in the underground car park, subject to availability.
EV charging stations for vehicles are available in the underground car park.
20. Lost and Found
Left-behind items will only be forwarded upon request and at the guest's expense.
The hotel stores lost and found items for a reasonable period.
21. Force Majeure
The hotel is not liable for service disruptions caused by force majeure or other circumstances beyond the hotel's control.
22. Jurisdiction & Applicable Law
German law applies.
The place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from the contractual relationship is – to the extent legally permissible – Cuxhaven.
23. Final Provisions
Should individual provisions of these General Terms and Conditions be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
